| | Dashboard Confessional - Where There's Gold... | ] | Does anyone else ever wake up in a complete panic for no reason? This morning I was *snap* awake just like that at 6:30 (15 minutes before my alarm is due to go off) and just completely afraid, not in the ‘afraid of life’ way but in the ‘afraid there is a killer in my closet that is going to jump out and stab me at any moment’ way. This is a completely insane and irrational fear… I’m well aware of this - I live in a really nice neighborhood with no crime that I’ve ever been aware of, I live on the 3rd floor of a house with 3 locked doors (count them.. THREE) between me and the outside world so the chances of a killer in my closet (or behind the curtain to my fire escape where I am more inclined to believe a killer would hide) are pretty slim. I tell myself these things but it doesn’t help. I’m a 23 year old who is pretty much just afraid of the dark. I think I’m insane. At night I don’t like there to be dark spaces behind me… I will occasionally jump into my bed because for some reason I’m freakishly scared of something. The thing that really confuses me though is that this is not an all the time thing. Sometimes I will not be scared at all and can walk around fine at night without having a freak out and the weirdest part of all to me is that this happens most in places I’m familiar with (ie. my apartment, my parent’s house). I am insane.
I will always find it necessary to have my bed in an area where nothing could possibly hide behind it.
Original Post: http://heathershae.tumblr.com/post/23187672 (that is more likely where I'll be posting random blog entries. for whatever reason I feel like when I'm updating livejournal I need to sit down and write a novel... and to be honest my life is just not that interesting. I do still read my friends page every day though.)
With that said here is a mini post: For those of you that don't know (although most of you should by now) I graduated from RIT in August when I finished up my co-ops at RIT and Democrat & Chronicle. I took a job as a web designer at a company called Dawnbreaker in North Chili (a suburb of Rochester) I still live in the city and ummm other than that... I watch a lot of netflix movies? so come visit me. Also I'm turning into a lizard.... seriously - you should see my hands. |

| my ... falling off the face of the planet for awhile? |
[Aug. 19th, 2007|06:53 pm] |
so i feel like i've been MIA for a bit. but it has been a long/crazy summer. i spent the good majority of my time working on my co-ops - spliting my time between democrat & chronicle (working on this - http://www.rocloop.com) and at RIT (working on random things). i have also had my fair amount of fun there was hitball, i went to kentucky to visit sarah, i got a tattoo, ashley had her bridal shower, i saw the forecast, kevin came here to visit, i went to the renaissance festival this past weekend, and there has been a lot of movies and learning rubik's cube as of late. my grandmother also passed away a few weeks ago which was less fun but i'm doing fine.
so my co-ops are ending this week and next so i was recently beginning to freak out about being a hobo - but i accepted a job offer in rochester last week that i'm pretty excited about. i start there on september 4th and i think i'll really enjoy it. it's at a company called dawnbreaker and my title is a multi media designer. i'll mostly be doing web work but some print and user interface design as well. they have some government clients like the navy and department of energy as well as some other smaller private clients. i'll have to spend a week or two a year in washington DC working at conferences which sounds more like fun than work to me and the people that i've met there so far seem pretty cool. i can't wait to have real health insurance and actual money. i miiiiight be home a weekend in the near future if anyone is still around let me know. for now that's all i just wanted to update in case you thought i'd disappeared.... cause i kind of felt like i did. |

so i lost my student ID at the very beginning of the summer so i sucked it up and paid the $5 to get a new one. so just now i put on a pair of jeans (mind you a pair i wear like every single day not some pair i had stuck in the back of my closet) and my ID was in the pocket so i go to put it back in my wallet but there is already one in there!!! so this ID appeared out of nowhere... i'm fairly certain it's the jerk ghost that lives here.
by the way the new matt nathanson cd blows my mind. |

so i've been running regularly lately and i plan on continuing to do so but my shins are effing killing me. i've just been running around my neighborhood and i think i'm just not used to running on pavement b/c the rest of me is doing totally ok (except the one day that i spontaneously got asthma). i'm pretty sure all i need to do is invest in some new sneakers (being that the ones i currently run in are my track sneakers from 10th grade haha). but i am poor to the max and don't want to spend like $160. so i just wanted some input what are comfy running shoes that are not super expensive? any ideas? |

| | brand new - jesus christ | ] | so the beginning:
saturday - i got up and decided that if i didn't have an ipod on this trip i was going to die. (i now know that probably would have been the case) so i got a red nano and i am in love with it.

kevin, sarah and i left rochester around 1 with lots of caffeine. so then on the 6 hour drive we kept getting car sick/having to go to the bathroom a lot so it made for a longer (more eventful) trip. we had to stop in sketchville, USA at one point.

we got to leanna's apartment around 9 after (realistically) not ALL that many problems... grrrr new jersey... keep adding to the reasons i hate you. we then went out to leanna's restaurant and hung out for awhile. we then wandered and watched leanna hit on some boy she still isn't sure is taller than her.
sunday - sarah, kevin and i wandered all day. ate in little italy, saw trump towers, twisted my ankle, etc. i have never twisted my ankle before this part particularly sucked.
monday - heewa came to hang out with me. we again wandered (limped) all day and then meet up with reed, leanna, and heewa's friend whose name i can't remember for dinner

tuesday - i ventured (limped) out on my own to go shopping, mostly on 5th ave. i had a few things i need to buy like a hoodie because somehow in my packing i thought it'd be a good idea to forget one. but i also bought the new love of my life

for real i'm in love with my computer <3
wednesday - i woke up just in time to see a freaking CAR EXPLODE! coolest thing ever. i hear all these people yelling and so i am getting mad and just want them to shut up. but then i hear the police come so i'm like aaah i better at least look out the window. i see there's a quite a crowd and they're all looking at something but i couldn't see it from where i was. so i go and look out another window and there is a cadillac on fire (there was no one in it). so i'm just watching it wondering 'what the heck why is this car on fire'... then it EXPLODES... movie style. it was NUTS there was so much black smoke i couldn't see the building across the street and then other little things kept exploding like the tires (which were really loud) and the mirrors (which were AWESOME). it was by far one of the coolest things i've ever seen.
so after that excitement i went to time square to meet up with adam before he went to work. we got pizza and hung out... and had gigantic margaritas. back to wandering.. it was really cold we we went to another bar haha. i met up with leanna when she got out of work and we went and met up with her friend who works at the wilhelmina modeling agency and he gave us a quick tour (which is the agency that the vh1 is doing their reality show 'the agency' about). we then went out for drinks followed by going somewhere else for more drinks and then somewhere else and somewhere else.

thursday - i took the chinatown bus to boston, which pretty took me all day and has seriously killed my ankle because my suitcase is gigantic and i was lugging it up and downstairs and whatnot. i'm really hoping that it'll just stop hurting anytime now.
so today i am doing nothing (which is probably good for my ankle) and by nothing i mean trying to finish a website so i can get paid. tomorrow i'm going into boston to meet up with jamie & calle and possibly liz, sarah, and kevin. i'm going to tewksbury with jamie and night and then colby is picking me up bright and early (extra so with daylight savings time) to head back to rochester. then my spring break will continue because kelly and jarrod are coming up to go to the hit the lights show with me. yay.
in other news my mom was in the hospital on wednesday night. she was having chest pains and other heart attack-esque symptoms but they kept her overnight and ran tests and everything came back fine. they *think* she was hyperventilating?? which seems really odd to me but they're doctors.. so oook. but they let her go home yesterday afternoon and she seemed fine when i talked to her and she said she felt a lot better so that's good.
now onto that website nonsense... |

| my doctor hate me |
[Jan. 22nd, 2007|02:14 pm] |
so i went home this weekend for a 5 minute doctors appointment. that's not really why my doctors hate me... that's more or less why my health insurance is terrible. the REAL reason i think my doctors hate me is the fact that when i went to get my prescription filled for my shoe insoles they told me that more or less what is wrong with my hurt foot is converse. needless to say my general plan is to ignore them. he also tried to scare me by telling me that if i keep wearing converse i'll have to wear shoes more or less like this when i get old

i then informed him that i work at a retirement home and pretty much everyone there has those shoes and somehow i don't think that they all wore converse so i'm pretty sure that just by getting better shoes i will not avoid this ugly shoe fate. he just looked at me after that.
[he was also weird and looked like he was from new jersey and had too much chest hair sticking out of his shirt... i'm pretty sure that any is too much but you get my drift]
[i just drank my latte significantly too fast and will likely start shaking in the next 5 minutes] |
